Spanish seafoods that you must definitely try out in Sydney restaurants

We are very much familiar with the fact that Spaniards prefer to make unique and delicious food. Spain is surrounded by water on three sides, so it has a great availability of seafood. Some famous Spanish seafood are Bogavante, Cigala, Centollo, Gambas, Camarones, Langostinos, etc.

  • Bogavante

    It is termed as lobster in other places. They are very large crustacean having tender meat on their claws. Langosta is a spiny lobster- a crustacean without any claw which resides in a seabed. Spaniards eat langosta with a sauce or maybe boiled or sometimes mix them with the seafood rice dish.

  • Cigala

It is a type of crustacean which is smaller as compared to the other lobsters available in the deep sea. The color of cigala is orange-pink and the body is slim. The height of cigala is approximately 24 cm. They are mostly found in the North Sea as well as the Atlantic Ocean but they are not so common in the Mediterranean. They are versatile and is prepared by frying, and boiling. The flat grill can be be used to cook them.

  • Centollo

    The Centello is also called snow crab. They are very much popular in the Northern region of Spain. They have very thin and long legs as well as the two spines in the front helps them to protect themselves from their enemies. Some of these crabs weigh around 8 lbs. In the Sydney seafood restaurant, you will get all sorts of dishes that can be made with centollo. Such a delicious Spanish dishes are empanada filling, souffles, crab cakes or croquetas.

  • Gambas, Camarones, Langostinos:
    The shrimps come in various names and different sizes. Langostinos are considered as one of the largest shrimp in Spain. They are simply boiled and it can be served cold along with some salsa rosa and with the vinaigrette sauce. Gambas is smaller than langostinos which are generally grilled with lemon juice and some salt. Gambas al ajillo is one of the popular Spanish tapash dishes. Camarones is the most smaller among the three shrimps but they are quite expensive.
